One of Brixton's best kept secrets. Tucked in under the arches of on Atlantic Road. Great for dinners any night of the week or giving it some on a Friday or Sat night. Dj's out in the back room are always on point. As for the food i've always been partial to the burger (depending on the buns they get in that day) or the tapas. Can get busy so be early to get a seat.

Pre-Gig Chunky Chips and Decent Beer!

21 Apr 08, 21:32 4* Above expectations

The Brixton Bar and Grill, is a little hidden gem off the beaten track, but still in walking distance of Brixton Academy if you fancy a quick beer or three before heading off to a gig. The staff were really friendly when we went recently and their chunky chips are the perfect accompaniment to the top quality (and reasonably priced beers) that they serve there!

Friendly in Brixton

12 Apr 08, 11:45 4* Above expectations

In a place where everything seems mental and busy - Brixton Bar and Grill seems very .... 'normal'. It's never really busy when I go - which is early evening after work.

It's a good place to relax near the tube without the usual Brixton 'let's go mental' atmosphere.

Drinks aren't too expensive for a 'bar'. The service is the most worthy mention. The bar staff are very friendly - not aggressive like a lot of other bars, pubs and clubs in that area. They actually come over to you before you even take your coat off to ask what you would like to drink. Yes that's called table service, but it makes a difference when you are not really expecting it. Seating is comfortable and it's pleasant candle light.

I've only eaten olives and breads there and I'm not sure it's a full menu. But for drinks, it's a good place to go, only a hop and a skip away from the tube.
