Review of The Garrick Arms

My Works' Local
It's overpriced but the measures are big, so it's easy to get drunk. I like their White Zinfandel, it's like drinking squash...not many pubs serve that. They do jugs of Pimms in the summer. A man tried to sell my friend fish in there once, from inside his jacket. Another old vagrant-looking guy one night approached everyone rambling solely about football. You do get random characters wandering in. I guess a pub is made by the people who drink there, and as those are friends from work, its an ok place!!

Review of New Devi Tandoori Restaurant

Good people, good food
This is a lovely restaurant - deserving of more business than they currently seem to have. I have only been there on a week night and would like to think the weekends get busier. The people are very sweet and the food is good.

Review of Malden Centre

Gym'll Fix It
The Kinetika gym at the Malden Centre has been recently refurbished. The machines are fairly good although the warm downs on the programmes are not as good as the ones on the old treadmills/cross trainers. The staff are amiable and helpful. It gets really busy in the evenings so try and go at other times! The pool is pretty good, warm and large, and there is a junior teaching pool. My mum has recently learned to swim there and she rates it - small groups so lots of attention. There are good workout classes - my favourite is body balance.

Review of The Riverside Vegetaria
09 Apr 08, 12:17
The clue's in the title!
This is a great asset to Kingston, I do not know of anywhere else which offers purely vegetarian food and lots of vegan dishes too. The food tastes fresh, wholesome and nicely blended, and the prices aren't too bad considering the location - it literally backs onto the Thames so has views of the river. The design of the place is nice if a little cramped, it's a real old style restaurant with proper furniture and many artworks on the walls.

Review of London School Of Diving
09 Apr 08, 12:10
London's best scuba diving!
These guys are excellent, very professional and friendly. Their facilities are great and they teach scuba diving from beginner up to instructor level. Open water teaching sites range from Cornwall to the Red Sea. Scuba diving is something everyone should try - book a course immediately!

Review of The Fighting Cocks
09 Apr 08, 11:48
Best pub in Kingston
The Fighting Cocks is a great rocker's pub, when you first step in and see all the leather and piercings it feels like an exclusive joint but they are really friendly staff, mostly Aussies, and the people who drink there are cool too. If you like guitar music more than dance it's the best bet for you in Kingston!

Review of Oceana

Dive In!
I've only been here once - the decor is quite impressive in the themed rooms (boudoir, ski lodge etc) and the music is different in every one which is good, sometimes with good new live acts. Its got a meat market factor to rival The Works and is mostly quite a 'young people' place...on Wednesday's student night the queue goes round the block past the fallen telephone boxes.

Review of Carluccios
09 Apr 08, 11:28
Real Italian Food!
Carluccio's is real Italian food for good prices, there is not a pizza on the menu - just simple, tasty pasta and meat dishes. It is set just off the river in the nicer, newly built area of town. If you're lucky you might get to sample the starter scamorza fritta - deep fried breaded mozzarella - the best thing on the menu but only comes to Kingston as a special these days.
