Review of Paignton Pier

05 May 08, 23:01

Usual piery kinda stuff! 3*

I could spend all day on those two-pence machines couldn't you? Why are we not clever enough to figure out that the idea is that no matter how long you spend trying to get the money to fall, you'd always feed everything you win back into it so as to avoid carrying around a bunch of coppers for the rest of the day? Answer: probably because you're under ten years old! This pier has the usual vast range of computer games and gambling for prizes - it's like Vegas for kids! Candy floss and fish n chips are up for grabs too. The trampolines and inflatable slides at the end of the pier are much healthier fun for the family!

Review of Eden Project

Great ecological place of interest! 4*

The Eden Project is the must-see place of interest on the South Coast in my opinion. The entry fee was only £15, very reasonable value for what lay inside. It is an educational charity for ecological awareness, made up of three different sections, housing plants and even animals from three different climatic conditions around the world. Imagine Kew Gardens but much bigger and better. The view of the Project from the outside is a work of art in itself, an impressive structure which resembles a huge glass caterpillar! They have seasonal festivals on here, from live music to educational events.

Review of London Aquarium

Brilliant Aquarium 5*

The London Aquarium is awesome in its design. Upon going in you have a Ford Ka which is filled with water and marine fish…very cool! They may have updated the car now as this is an old model – but I haven’t been for a few years. What I know will not have changed is the huge aquarium rooms which take your breath away. They are about 3 storeys high and massive in volume, and give the appearance of hidden, forgotten underwater caves, with gargantuan statues of Mayan-style heads embedded in the ground. They have so many species of underwater life – this is a really great place to learn about marine life, it is something the South Bank should be most proud of, much more than the London Eye!
